Your first week in seven rules
- Never let your base sit idle.
- Don’t spend diamonds on small things.
- Build your Training Camp early.
- Join an active alliance.
- Learn the events early.
- Grow in balance.
- Know the real goal.
What Lands of Jail actually is
It looks like a prison manager, but it plays as a strategy war game with base building. As Warden you keep order among your prisoners, build and upgrade your prison, train troops and heroes, and compete in events and alliance wars.
1. Never let your base sit idle
The most common early mistake is an empty queue. At all times you want:
- a building upgrading,
- research running,
- troops training.
Progress comes from steady activity, not bursts. Simple rule: if nothing is upgrading, you’re falling behind.
2. Don’t spend diamonds on small things
Diamonds are among the most valuable things you own. New players lose them on speeding up small upgrades, random purchases and early convenience. Keep them for important upgrades, events and long-term boosts.
3. Build your Training Camp early
The Training Camp drives your troop strength, your combat results and your overall power. If your training is weak, everything else suffers.
- Put elite units ahead of common ones.
- Upgrade the camp regularly.
- Rotate units so progress stays balanced.
- Use boosts such as Gold Cuffs on purpose, not by reflex.

4. Join an active alliance
This isn’t optional. A good alliance gives you faster help on upgrades, event rewards, protection and better progress overall. If your alliance goes quiet, move on. See the alliances on LOJ XLab.
5. Learn the events early
Most of your rewards come from events: Pioneer Race, Strongest Alliance, Crystal Clash and Trial Cage among them. Players who learn them early earn more, grow faster and outscale others. In many events, timing and preparation beat raw power.
Check what’s on today in the events calendar, and read Trial Cage for Beginners & F2P before your first Cage.
6. Grow in balance
Upgrading only buildings, only troops, or skipping research all slow you down. Every system adds to your power, so keep buildings, troops and research moving together.
7. Know the real goal
This is a competitive strategy game, not a casual builder. Over the long run you are building power efficiently, getting the most from your heroes and troops, competing in events and supporting your alliance. Players who see that early grow much faster.
The short version
Lands of Jail rewards consistency, planning and careful use of resources. Keep your queues active, save your diamonds, focus on training and your alliance, and learn the events. You’ll grow faster than most players without spending heavily.
