In one line: Gold Hunter rewards speed, not ego. Keep every march busy, own a quiet corner of the map, and drop everything for the two trove waves at 20 and 10 minutes left. They decide most of the leaderboard.

Where this comes from: MIRÖX’s 10-part Gold Hunter guide for her alliance (The Purge Lords, S216), first posted in the LOJXLab Community Discord in October 2025.
Sample (rough): S216, roughly 5–10 Gold Hunter events, MIRÖX’s estimate.
Not yet measured: points per phase. “Troves decide about 70% of the final ranking” is MIRÖX’s read of the leaderboard, not a counted figure.
What would change this: a change to trove timing or teleport rules, or logged runs where steady PvE beats the trove rush. Send us your results.
How Gold Hunter works
You win by collecting more gold than everyone else before time runs out: by killing Greedy Miners, clearing mines, picking up drops, and grabbing the troves that spawn late. You can win without heavy spending; planning and reaction speed matter more.
| Phase | When | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Scout | First 2–3 minutes | Count nearby bases, mines and Greedy Miners. Crowded? Use your free teleport now. |
| Early loop | 0–10 minutes | Kill Greedy Miners → clear mines → collect drops → recall. Repeat nonstop. |
| Trove wave 1 | ~20 minutes left | Drop everything and send every march to the nearest troves. |
| Back to farming | Between waves | Miners and mines again; stay ready. |
| Trove wave 2 | ~10 minutes left | Same: every march, nearest troves first, recall the moment they empty. |
1 · Gear: the tools that win
| Player type | Setup |
|---|---|
| Free | Speed, carrying capacity and damage against neutral enemies: Supply Cart, Lava Wader, Miner’s Toolkit, Radiant Minecart, Infinity Chest (Time Shifter or Faded Minecart optional). Talents: Plundering, plus Prospecting if unlocked. The Jungle set (Plan 3) is still the most reliable full set. |
| Mid | Max your Jungle gear, add one or two legendary pieces for march speed or troop attack. Build about 80% for farming, 20% ready to fight. |
| Top spender | Two presets: a Farming preset for the first phase and a Battle preset for troves and the center. |
2 · Heroes, troops and marches
- Heroes: one for speed, one heavy-damage hero for Greedy Miners, one with gathering or capacity bonuses.
- Troops: speed rules. Free players mostly cavalry; mid players cavalry plus ranged; top players one troop type per march. Always send your best tier.
- Marches: free players (3–4) keep one march only for drops; mid (4–5) farm and defend; top (5–6) keep one or two for fights and troves while the rest farm.
- Keep one lighter march as a fast-response team for drops and last-second miners.
3 · Positioning and teleports
- Look for few players, clusters of level 1–2 mines and Greedy Miners nearby. Map edges and corners often have this.
- Bring 3–4 extra teleports. Move when your area dries up or a strong player moves in. After the first trove wave, jump toward new spawns or the center if you plan to contest the legendary trove.
- Land in the middle of several mines, never right next to an active player, with at least three mines within instant reach.
Think of your base as a mobile command post. Be where the gold is, not where the crowd fights.

4 · The early loop (0–10 minutes)
- Greedy Miners first: instant gold and drops. Fast troops, levels 1–2 early, level 3 if nobody contests.
- Clear mines that still hold gold or have a miner inside. Empty or occupied mines waste time.
- Collect drops with your fastest march. On the first pickup tick “Do not ask again”.
- Recall immediately after every clear or kill.
5 · Troves: the 20 / 10 minute rule
- Cancel minor fights and long marches; send every march to the nearest troves.
- Free players: outer, quieter troves. Mid: safe nearby troves or leftovers behind stronger players. Top: contested troves with your best gear.
- Can’t win a fight at a trove? Move to a free one instead.
- Recall the moment a trove is empty, then go back to farming.
6 · PvE or PvP?
| Player type | Play it like this |
|---|---|
| Free | Pure PvE. Move often, never get cornered. Many top-10 free players never fight. |
| Mid | Fight only to protect your area or secure a trove. |
| Top | Use PvP to win objectives, not for revenge or pride. |
Golden rule: no idle marches, ever. One attacks, one clears, one collects; stagger recalls and pre-select the next target so a march goes out the second it returns. Use march-speed boosts for trove waves and long runs.
Checklist
| When | Do this |
|---|---|
| Before | Save PvE and PvP gear presets · 3–4 teleports · march-speed or gathering boosts on · enough troops for every march · heroes with speed, NPC attack and gathering skills |
| Spawn | Scout · teleport early if crowded · mark your farming direction |
| During | Kill → Clear → Collect → Recall · no idle marches · skip empty or occupied mines |
| Troves | Every march to the nearest trove · recall when empty · back to PvE after the wave |
Playing as an alliance
- Split zones: if you spawn near alliance mates, agree directions so you don’t farm the same mines.
- Trove callouts: one player pings trove locations at the 20 and 10 minute waves.
- No internal fights: you only waste each other’s troops.
- Short pings only mid-event; share screenshots and lessons afterwards.
