Trio Lab checks your three heroes against the battle you are preparing for: rally, defending or solo attack. It flags idle heroes and shows what a joiner brings. Cage Lab builds a 7-hero Cage rally from MIRÖX’s guide and marks every War skill as counts, weak or wasted. The Hero Combo Academy’s trios are in the Lab picks, and its guide is below the tools.
Built from the in-game screens of 26 battle heroes (Seasons 1 to 6). Browse all heroes · Read the Cage guide.
How to choose a hero trio
Build the best trio you can actually use: one Shieldbearer, one Bomber and one Shooter, based on your unlocked season and battle role. Every trio needs three different classes; you cannot run two Shooters, two Bombers or two Shieldbearers in one formation.
- 1Choose the battle roleRally, defending or solo attack. Each hero’s War skill works in one of them.
- 2Fill all three classesOne Shieldbearer, one Bomber, one Shooter.
- 3Check skill synergyA combo is three heroes whose mechanics work together. Three individually strong heroes are only a lineup.
- 4Check the enemy counterPick the trio that answers the damage you are facing.

Upgrade paths without rebuilding everything
Rally and Cage
Tyronn stays relevant: every Shieldbearer from Season 2 to Season 6 is a Defending hero in game, so no newer Rally Shieldbearer replaces him.
Defending and garrison
Defense becomes matchup-based at high seasons. Marcus is stronger into Basic Attack pressure; Zoltan may remain preferable against mixed damage; Lanchester can still beat Lee when pure tanking is the goal.
Solo
Phoenix stays relevant for the same reason: no dedicated Solo Shieldbearer has arrived up to Season 6.
Newer does not automatically mean better
Once your trio is role-correct, the next question is the matchup. A Season 4 hero can outperform a Season 5 hero when its damage reduction, debuff, trigger pattern or damage type directly counters the enemy.
Basic Attack-heavy enemy: Marcus becomes extremely valuable. Mixed Basic, Critical and Tactical pressure: Zoltan may give broader protection.
Use these trios as starting points, then check them in your own Battle Reports. Skill levels, Exclusive Equipment, Robots, troop ratios and enemy counters can change the best answer for your account. This guide and its trios were the Hero Combo Academy; they now live here with the Trio Lab.
