In one line: a 5-star hero takes 1,075 hero shards, and more than half of that is the 5th star alone. Decide who gets to 5 stars before you spread shards around.

Your plan
- Count to 4 stars first. 4 stars costs 475 hero shards. That is the efficient stop for most heroes.
- Save the 600. Only push a 5th star on a hero your main line-up actually uses.
- Watch part 6. For stars 2 to 4, the last part costs 2.5–3× the other parts. Plan for it before you start a star.
